Domain Name
A domain name or URL is the address that your site will be located. (For example, www.bgca.org is the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Web site address.) You can select any domain name that is available with the extension .com, .net, .org, etc. We recommend you select a .org extension with the following syntax:

www.bgcyourcity.org

If .org is not available, use .net as your second choice. If multiple cities with the same name exist, you might choose to add your state abbreviation or other identifying name. Remember that the name of your Web site should be easy to remember and identify your Club. If the name you want is not available, we will help you find one that is.

Web Site
The information that is viewable from your domain name is your Web site. Your site generally consists of graphics (site's image) and text (site's content). You can select the graphics that best suit your club and input the content yourself with simple word processing skills. Setting up your Web site has never been easier!

Hosting Service
After creating your site and registering a domain name, the site needs to be hosted on a server that accesses the entire Internet. Now when people enter your Club’s domain name into the address bar of their browser, they will access your Web site.
